New Staff at Quay
Who they are and what they do
Simon Johal joined Quay on Sept.
4th as part of a 3 months’ secondment from
Capita Randall Lyons, where he was responsible
for the design and implementation of Client Document
Management System Projects.
The aim of the secondment is to provide Project
Management for new and existing customer projects
together with helping develop Quays’ Programme/Project
Management processes.

“I was looking forward to joining Quay because
there are a number of different software products which
I was keen to gain a better understanding of, together
with the Financial Services Industry as a whole. I am
finding my stay very enjoyable from both a business
and personal perspective. All the staff have been very
helpful to me over the last couple of weeks and made
me feel completely at home.”
Samm Dodge joined Quay as Marketing
Assistant in September. With 4 years experience in Financial
Services and in running her own business, Samm was eager
to take on a bigger challenge. She will work alongside
Mitchell Philpott, MD and the Sales Team.
“I’m very excited to be joining Quay at
this time of change and growth. It will be a pleasure
to promote the new products and observe their success.
Quay is a very dynamic and friendly company and I feel
sure that I will make many good friends.”
Emma Penny has been at Quay since
July as a Training Consultant. She has worked in the
Financial Services industry for 12 years and has been
training for the past 7. She has had a variety of roles
in Financial Services starting in Customer Service,
moving into Process Training and then Product and Technical
Training, predominately with Skandia Life.
“ I understand the issues that Financial Advisers
face on a daily basis and know this is a great advantage
when visiting clients to train them on Quay’s
software. I currently cover clients based within with
south of England, so if this is where you are situated
I’ll probably be the trainer you’ll meet.”
Delwhar Hussein joined Quay as Technical
Support Assistant in early September. He graduated from
The University of Hertford with honours in Computer
Science and went on to do a 13 month placement at International
Labmate (Journalists in lab and environmental issues)
where he worked in their IT department.
“I am enjoying working at Quay. The people
in the Technical Support Team are very friendly. I look
forward to a long and productive career at Quay.
Jake Johnston is another new member of
Quay. He started on 25th September as Programme &
Development Manager within Business Operations. Jake has
spent the last 8 years as a Consultant Project Manager
with IBM Global Services completing numerous projects
for a range of well known clients such as Cazenove Investment
Bank, NTL and The Highways Agency.
“I have really enjoyed my first few days here
at Quay Software. There’s a great team spirit and
I’m looking forward to getting to know all about
Quays’ exciting IFA products.”
Sally Purcell joined Quay at the end
of July 2006 as Product and Training Manager, Sally brings
with her almost 10 years experience in the financial services
industry. She started her career at Misys Financial Systems,
where she spent a year working on the Applications Support
Desk and was subsequently promoted to a training role.
In July 1999 Sally moved to 1st to continue her career
in their training team. After a year she progressed to
Corporate Accounts Manager, working with some of 1st's
largest clients to ensure that they got as much out of
the software as possible. For the last two years of her
employment at 1st Sally worked as a Business Consultant,
working with new and existing clients managing large and
complex implementation and integration projects. As a
Business Consultant, her remit was to fully plan and execute
a project that met the specific needs of the client she
was working with and to ensure that the software was utilised
to its optimum capacity to ensure streamlined and flowing
working practices.
“I am looking forward to helping Quay progress
its strong suite of products and the wealth of knowledge
and understanding I have built of how Financial Intermediaries
operate will ensure that our future developments are geared
around making the end to end process of advice and client
servicing as intuitive as possible; creating a strong
suite of scalable products that truly support the business
process, being comprehensive but keeping true to Quay’s
commitment to user-friendliness and ease of use.”
