The FSA become concerned on business continuity planning!

As reported by AMI (association of mortgage intermediaries)

Crises don't just happen to someone else. Nearly one in five businesses suffers a major disruption every year. A terrorist attack may be our biggest nightmare. But smaller scale disruptions can also play havoc with a business: damage from fire, flooding following a ruptured water main, power disruption from a workman cutting through a cable or an IT breakdown, to name just a few.

How quickly you get back to "business as usual" depends on how effectively you create and put into action a business continuity management (BCM) plan.

Having such a plan in place not only adds value to your business but also provides a signal to your customers and the regulator that your management can deal effectively with a crisis. This isn't a "big firm" issue as any regulated firm must ensure it is able to continue if the worst should happen.

As part of its work to promote financial continuity, the FSA says it is likely to concentrate on three aspects in the member firms it regulates:

a.. back-up facilities
b.. greater transparency about the facilities offered by external BCM providers (i.e. companies which offer everything from planning consultancy to the provision of alternative IT and/or premises to firms which are unable to continue operating in the wake of an unforeseen disruption)
c.. the adequacy of BCM arrangements in the event of serious firm
disruption

Quay Software is taking the new FSA regulations very seriously and in accordance with the 'back-up' facilities required above we have been using Depositit's secure online backup solution for some time now.

Depositit provide an easy to use secure backup solution that automatically backs up our files every day, ensuring we remain both compliant and 'safely backed up' when a crisis hits.

It's extremely easy to backup information, and most importantly just as easy to restore it too.

The Depositit software can be installed onto PC's, laptops or servers and there is no limit to the amount of information you can store with them.

We have been so impressed with the service that we negotiated a discount for all Quay Software customers and strongly recommend that you click on the link below to take advantage of this offer (prices start from just £49 + vat a year for Quay members!).

It will take around 20 minutes to register & set-up, and from then on your information will be safe and your business compliant.

Please don't wait for the FSA to come knocking at your door, or worse still your computer to crash so you lose all your critical contact information!
