On Wednesday 27th July, Quay Software will be celebrating our 10th Birthday.

As a thank you to our staff, we would like to take this opportunity to reward them with a day out and as a consequence, we will be shutting the office on this day.

We would like to welcome Deborah, who has joined the Support team. Deborah has previous experience as a financial adviser and has also been a trainer within the financial services sector.

This update focuses on the improved knowledge base and compliance training.

 
 


The Knowledge Base is our most comprehensive on-line information resource with articles covering the functionality within the Client Care Desktop, providing the quickest way to access information, training material and updates.

The Knowledge Base provides text, pictures and animated walk-throughs to teach you all you need to know about a specific task or even just to familiarise yourself with the system. This facility can be accessed via the Client Care Desktop (within the Help module) or your internet browser and is available 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

We have improved the search options available to you on the Knowledge Base, which will help you to locate information on the required area in a shorter period of time. You can choose to find articles by contents,
category or by individual search words.

We have included a basic getting started training program with the installation of the Client Care Desktop. This allows every user that has the Client Care Desktop installed to access the training course from their workstation.

The training program can be accessed by going to the Start Menu on your computer and selecting Programs, Quay Software Solutions and Electronic Training. This program can be run at the same time as the Client Care Desktop and will help you familiarise yourself with the system.

 
     
What's happening at Quay?

Latest News can be found on our website, which will include items such as when a new version of the Client Care Desktop is released and also how to request your upgrade.

You can set the Client Care Desktop to open up with the latest news automatically. From the front manager screen, go to set up, staff list, select the relevant member of staff, click on the settings tab and check the box “Display latest Quay Software news on opening system”. Once your system has been rebooted, the latest news item will flash up on your screen on opening the Client Care Desktop.

FSA rules regarding fund price listings

The FSA have recently changed the requirement that prices need to be published daily in a national newspaper. The new CIS Sourcebook/COLL rules apply from April 2005, which means that fund providers are now able to publish their prices in the most “appropriate manner”, with the FSA specifically citing the internet. Financial Express and the IMA have jointly launched an online listings service.his has already been white-labelled by the main adviser and consumer websites, such as The London Stock Exchange and The Insurance Trading Exchange.
