What are you doing to raise the profile of your IFA practice?
I just came back from an interesting meeting with an IFA in Bristol. This guy is highly respected and well established in the industry. He runs a very good quality practice and works closely with a small number of high quality, fee paying clients. Many IFAs tell me that this is the direction in which they are moving - i.e. changing from an indemnity commission based business, to more of a consultancy based fee charging model. But what interested me most, was the fact that this IFA is not resting on his laurels or the 'comfort blanket' of a top quality client bank. He believes that it is vital to keep moving forward and to look for new ways of enhancing his client proposition and the perception of his expertise, credibility and value. So, although his business model is already extremely sound, he continues to keep pushing forward, proactively looking for top quality new clients. His chosen method is to set up a seminar programme, hosting financial planning workshops at strategic locations around the UK, and Quay is providing expert advice on how to set it up.
